Introduction to the Intelligent Electricity Management System for University Dormitories

The intelligent electricity management system comprises electricity metering terminals, data collectors, and PC-based system software. The metering devices consist of standard or modular electricity meters equipped with RS485 interfaces. The data collection units gather data from the meters—with each unit capable of supporting up to 128 meters—and feature standard RS485 and TCP/IP network interfaces. The PC software is used for data collection and statistical analysis.
The metering terminals come in various configurations, including standard meters with LCD displays, as well as dual-circuit and four-circuit smart meters. Standard meters feature LCD modules that display total, consumed, and remaining electricity, making them suitable for distributed installation. Modular meters are designed for large-scale centralized installations, overcoming the drawbacks of traditional centralized metering cabinets, such as complex internal structures, numerous potential failure points, and difficult maintenance.
Equipped with an onboard CPU, each meter independently handles all electricity management functions; the system is easy to install and maintain, representing a new generation of electricity management equipment for student apartments that replaces traditional centralized control cabinets.
Beyond its core management and control functions, this system integrates seamlessly with campus "One-Card" systems. This enables students to make self-service payments and allows the card center to monitor usage in real-time, ensuring safe, stable, and unattended operation. The solution is primarily designed for centralized electricity metering and data collection in schools and corporate buildings, utilizing RS485 communication within buildings and TCP/IP for remote communication between buildings.

User Settings and Device Management

Room Settings (location details such as room number, floor, and building; occupant count and corresponding identity information; applicable rates and special notes)
Electricity Meter Terminal Settings (mapping between meter ID and room number; associated user information)
Data Gateway Settings (gateway ID; associated rooms and meters; gateway location and naming)

Electricity Metering and Billing Management

Uses imported metering chips (Class 1.0 accuracy; simultaneously monitors and outputs various power usage parameters)
Prepaid electricity and automatic cutoff for zero balance (includes low-balance alerts and software-configurable overdraft limits)
Automated advance payment reminders (via SMS, LED displays, and campus web portals)
Payment records and receipt printing (deposit slips printed upon payment)
Settlement and audit reports (account deposit and balance reports; cashier deposit details)
Self-service payment (seamless integration with the campus "One-Card" system for self-service electricity purchases)

Parameter Configuration and Load Management

Parameter Download and Offline Operation (The software allows for the configuration of parameters—such as power switching and load limits—which are downloaded to and stored on the meter terminal; the meter can then automatically execute these management functions while offline.)
Time-Based Circuit Control (Allows for the scheduling of power-on and power-off times for specific periods.)
Load Power Limiting (Load power limits can be set arbitrarily; power is automatically cut off if the limit is exceeded.)
Malicious Load Limiting (Power limits for malicious loads can be set arbitrarily; effectively detects resistive loads to prevent fire hazards.)
Tamper-Resistant Socket Detection (Uses technical means to detect the unauthorized use of sockets designed to bypass power limits, thereby eliminating safety risks.)
Automatic Power Restoration (Restoration time is adjustable from 0 to 255 minutes; a setting of 0 disables automatic restoration.)

Status Monitoring and Data Management

Equipment status monitoring (real-time monitoring of meter and gateway online/fault status, etc.)
Room status monitoring (real-time monitoring of room current, voltage, electrical safety status, etc.)
Status inquiry and logging (real-time monitoring of switch status, instantaneous power, etc., for effective oversight)
Remaining credit and consumption inquiries (via rotating display screens and web-based queries)
Free basic electricity allowance settings (usage exceeding the allowance is charged at a set rate)
Refund management (settlement of refunds upon student transfer or graduation, with automated report generation)
Data migration for room changes (software-based data transfer when changing rooms)
Historical data analysis (statistical analysis of electricity usage, violations, etc., on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis)
Flexible rate settings (customizable billing rates based on the user category/identity)

System Management and Data Security

Alarm for control shutdown failure (specific icon displayed on the control computer monitor)
Communication error diagnostics (specific icon displayed on the control computer monitor)
Anti-tampering functionality (continues to operate and meter correctly despite reverse phase sequence or neutral wire disconnection)
Real-time monitoring (functional status and alarm information clearly displayed on the control computer monitor; facilitates timely troubleshooting and strict management)
B/S architecture (supports remote operation, management, and data queries via the Internet)
Seamless integration with "One-Card" systems (enables account top-ups and self-service electricity purchases)
Data protection during power loss or system crashes (automatic data retention in meters and data collectors for 10 years in the event of power outages or computer failures)
Off-site data backup (supports various backup methods and channels to ensure data security)
Tiered operator/administrator passwords and permissions (distinct access rights and passwords based on user roles; ensures security, confidentiality, and organized management)
