Working Principle

During operation, the voltage and current signals within the energy meter are sampled by respective sampling circuits, then fed into a dedicated energy metering integrated circuit for processing; subsequently, they are converted into digital signals and transmitted to a microprocessor for calculation. In the diagram, the microprocessor is responsible for time-of-use billing and for processing various input and output data. By acquiring energy pulses from the dedicated metering IC, it performs time-of-use active energy measurement; furthermore, it displays various data parameters as required, facilitates data transmission via infrared or RS485 interfaces, and records and stores a variety of operational data.
